About Wasabi

Established in 2015, Wasabi are one of the fastest growing cloud providers, with 40,000+ global customers and a company valuation of over $1 billion after equity funding in 2022.

Cloud Object Storage can provide a secure off-site location, improving resilience and protecting data from ransomware but many cloud services offer different tiers, with complex license models and charges for ingress, egress, API calls, and other fees that make them expensive and hard to budget.

Wasabi’s mission is to simplify cloud storage, making it secure, reliable, affordable and predictable, for businesses of all sizes.

Key Features

Simple

A single tier of universal cloud storage is as fast as Wasabi’s competitors’ fastest tiers but priced closer to cold storage. Simple to deploy, integrate and manage, Wasabi frees up your IT staff to focus on other work.

Secure

An enterprise-grade multi-layered approach to security keeps you and your data safe. Datacentres are SOC 2 compliant and certified for ISO 27001 and PCI-DSS. Full support for S3 Object Locking and Immutability, helps protect against ransomware.

Affordable

With pricing up to 80% less than the hyperscalers, and no fees for ingress, egress or API requests, you can store endless amounts of data without breaking the bank.

Predictable

A reliable service and predictable pricing with no hidden fees, takes the surprises out of your cloud storage experience.

Use Cases

The most common Wasabi use-case, is secure and immutable off-site storage for direct-to-cloud backups or copies of on-site backup repositories.

Wasabi also provides an alternative to on-site storage for other applications, including Unstructured File Data, CCTV, Multi-Media Data, Digital Archives and Electronic Patient Records.

In addition to the standard Wasabi S3 “Hot Cloud Storage” , Wasabi Cloud NAS provides a seamless file servicing experience for users, with the flexibility and agility of cloud; Wasabi Surveillance Cloud extends the capacity of on-premise video management systems; and Wasabi AiR provides powerful AI-based playback, indexing, tagging and search for video.

wasabi cloud storage Integrations

Integrations

Wasabi has the largest ecosystem of verified interoperable cloud application partners in the industry and integrates seamlessly with all S3-compatible backup providers and ransomware solutions, and many other applications.

Veeam Software

As the #1 backup application globally, Veeam Software is widely used for backup. Wasabi has been verified for Veeam Backup since Version 10. In Veeam Version 12, Wasabi is supported for direct-to-cloud backup, Scale-out-Backup-Repository (SoBR) and backup copies. Setup couldn’t be easier, as Wasabi is one of the five cloud services that’s pre-configured and available to select within the Veeam interface.

Wasabi Pricing

Wasabi Storage can be purchased on a Pay-as-You-Go (PAYG) or Reserved Capacity Storage (RCS) basis.

Whichever model you choose, you’ll benefit from highly affordable, secure, and accessible cloud object storage with no fees for ingress, egress or API requests and no complex storage tiers.

Your business may be unpredictable, but your cloud storage costs shouldn’t be.

Pay-as-You-Go (PAYG)

Wasabi Pay-as-You-Go (PAYG) is more expensive than Reserved Capacity Storage (see below) and doesn’t carry the same benefits, however at $6.99 per TB per Month with no ingress, egress or transaction costs, it’s still more cost-effective than well-known alternatives.

Try our calculator below, to see the typical cost of Wasabi PAYG vs the Hyperscalers.

Our calculator estimates overall costs based on current hyperscaler fees for capacity and egress. Your actual costs will depend on a number of variables, including actual usage, API requests, and geographic location.

per month

per year

This chart compares price per year differences between Wasabi and three other cloud storage competitors.

Reserved Capacity Storage (RCS)

Wasabi Reserved Capacity Storage (RCS) can reduce costs, improve predictability and move the costs of Cloud Storage from OpEx to CapEx.

Storage can be reserved in 1, 3 or 5-year increments, with additional discounts for term and capacity. Reserving capacity in this way locks the price for the term of the contract, providing even more predictability and price security than Wasabi PAYG.

Unlike PAYG (which is purchased direct in $USD, via monthly credit card payments), Wasabi RCS capacity can be purchased from PrimeSys in £GBP, with a VAT invoice from a UK company. Payments can be made up-front or annually, over the contract term.

Reserved Capacity Storage from PrimeSys also comes with Premium Support, ensuring fast resolutions to any issues.
