Ootbi was built to support Zero Trust principles — including Veeam’s recommended Zero Trust Data Resilience (ZTDR) architecture.

Ootbi utilises S3 Object Lock to enable immutability and runs its storage software on a hardened Linux operating system with a “zero access to root” policy.

Ootbi is inherently separated from the Veeam Backup & Replication server, unlike legacy solutions such as DAS, creating the proper segmentation between Backup Software and Backup Storage layers to ensure ransomware resilience.
